About
Wild Latitudes is a Portland, Oregon-based birding and natural history tour company co-founded and led by guides Steve Robertson and Ivan Phillipsen, both biologists with decades of fieldwork experience across more than thirty countries. Tours are pitched at participants who want serious birds alongside the broader ecology of a place — mammals, plants, geology and culture all factor into the itineraries.
The published calendar runs through 2027 and includes destinations as far-flung as Bhutan, Mongolia, Borneo, Brazil, Uganda and South Africa, plus regional US tours in Maine, Montana and Baja California and a Lesser Antilles loop covering Dominica, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and Guadeloupe. The Caribbean trip is built around the islands' endemic parrots and forest specialities, including the critically endangered Imperial Amazon.
