About

Raptours is a raptor-focused tour company that runs annual fall trips to the Veracruz River of Raptors, the world's largest raptor migration corridor, where as many as five million birds of prey funnel through the coastal plain between the Sierra Madre Oriental and the Gulf of Mexico. The Veracruz tour is led by Zach Smith, who counted at the Pronatura Veracruz hawkwatches for three years and has run the trip since 2014. The Mexico product targets a set of 35 raptor species - migrants such as Turkey Vulture, Broad-winged and Swainson's Hawks plus Mississippi, Plumbeous and Hook-billed Kites, with residents like Crane Hawk, Bat Falcon and King Vulture also possible. Beyond Mexico, Raptours runs raptor-specialty trips on five continents.
