Gil Serique

Gil Serique is a Brazilian field guide and conservationist based in Alter do Chao on the Tapajos river near Santarem, Para. He has been guiding wildlife and Amazon expeditions since 1987 and has built a reputation for finding wild parrots and macaws in remote corners of the Amazon basin and Atlantic Rainforest. Much of his fieldwork is tied to conservation projects, including long-running work with a population of Hyacinth Macaws in southern Piaui and expeditions to locate the rare Lear's Macaw. He guides individuals and small groups, supports visiting cruise ships, and offers everything from short Santarem-based excursions to extended Amazon and Atlantic Forest itineraries.
