AviFauna Naturresor is Scandinavia's largest and oldest dedicated bird tour operator, founded in 1985 and based in Sweden. Over four decades the company has built a worldwide programme covering Scandinavia and the Baltic, the rest of Europe, Africa, Asia, the Americas, Australasia and the polar regions, while continuing to run a strong calendar of domestic Swedish trips. Group sizes are typically kept to five to twelve participants. Most AviFauna tour leaders are professional biologists or seasoned field birders; collectively the team works in Swedish, Norwegian, Danish and English, with additional German, French or Spanish on some trips. The company is a member of the Swedish Association of Tour Operators and complies with EU package-travel rules, and accepts non-Scandinavian guests on its scheduled international departures.
