Themba — ZuluBirding & Ecotours

Themba runs ZuluBirding & Ecotours out of St Lucia in northern KwaZulu-Natal, working primarily inside the iSimangaliso Wetland Park UNESCO World Heritage Site and the wider Maputaland 'Elephant Coast' region. Born and raised in northern KZN, he combines bird guiding with deep local knowledge of Zulu culture, history and the area's wildlife. He is BirdLife South Africa bird-guide accredited and holds NQF4 nature-guide certification through Nature College and Southern African Wildlife College, plus a culture-guide qualification from Makiti Guides & Tours. He chairs the local UMkhanyakude Tourist Guide Forum and is registered with Tourism KwaZulu-Natal, making him one of the more institutionally embedded community guides on the Zululand Birding Route.
