Zoothera Birding

Zoothera Birding is a small UK-based birding tour company headquartered in Cresswell, near Stoke-on-Trent, that runs scheduled international trips with a strong bias toward rare and seldom-visited targets. The company name is a deliberate nod to the secretive thrush genus that runs through Asia, and the published programme reflects that bias: winter cranes and storks at Poyang Hu in China's Jiangxi Province, the Khmer specialties around Angkor in Cambodia, Northern Mexico's Thick-billed Parrot and Eared Quetzal in the Sierra Madre Occidental, and Western Palearctic listers' targets such as Caspian Tit and Caucasian Grouse. Other scheduled tours cover Balearic Islands spring migration, Azerbaijan and Iceland in Europe, the Canary Islands and Andalucia for the Western Palearctic crowd, and a winter trip to New Mexico. Group sizes are kept small and itineraries are built around specific high-value species rather than long generic country lists, with regular trip reports, a blog and a dedicated guides page supporting the offer.
