About

Valencia Birding was founded in 2011 by Sheffield-born guide David Warrington, who relocated to eastern Spain and built a tailor-made guiding service from the towns of Xàtiva and Dénia. The company covers Valencia, Alicante and into Castilla-La Mancha, working a stretch of Mediterranean coast and inland steppe that mixes wetlands, sierras, salinas and rice fields into one of Europe's most underrated birding regions. All trips are run privately for the individual, couple or small group that books them, with day excursions, short breaks and multi-day holidays on offer. Specialities include White-headed Duck and Red-knobbed Coot at El Hondo and La Mata, raptors such as Bonelli's and Golden Eagle in the limestone hills, and steppe birds including Great Bustard on day trips to the Castilian plains.
