Texas Target Birds (Greg Lavaty)

Greg Lavaty is a Houston-based wildlife photographer and birding guide who launched Texas Target Birds in 2010 after years of photographing the upper Texas coast. He runs customized photography-focused birding trips and offers instruction for photographers of all skill levels, with regular outings to High Island, the Bolivar Peninsula, and other Galveston-area hotspots. Lavaty's clients range from day-trippers wanting an orientation around Houston's best birding sites to dedicated photographers chasing specific target species and travellers booking longer state-wide itineraries. He also leads multi-day trips into the Rio Grande Valley and across northern Mexico, and contributes audio recordings to BirdNote. Houston Audubon lists him among its recommended local guide services.
