South Australia Birding & Photography Tours

Tour guideSoloLocal

About

South Australia Birding & Photography Tours is the solo operation of Peter Waanders, a professional birding guide working in South Australia since 2002. The business covers the full range of South Australian habitats around Adelaide and beyond - the River Murray wetlands, the Adelaide International Bird Sanctuary, the Coorong National Park, the Flinders Ranges, and the mallee at Gluepot Reserve. Tours cater to birders, listers, and bird photographers at all skill levels, with a focus on the state's mallee and outback specialities, including six species of grasswren and rarities such as Black-eared Miner and Scarlet-chested Parrot. South Australia is one of the country's strongest regions for these dry-country endemics. Waanders is an accredited tourism operator with Senior First Aid and advanced 4WD certifications, equipped with satellite phone, GPS, and field safety gear for remote-area trips.
