About
Silk Road Birding grew out of a Kazakhstan-based community of local birdwatchers around 2009 and has spent more than fifteen years running ornithological and cultural tours across Central Asia. The team is built from trained ornithologists, wildlife photographers and academics specialising in the region, and the company offers spring migration tours in Kazakhstan, mountain birding expeditions in Kyrgyzstan, bespoke itineraries, and day trips from Almaty, Astana and Bishkek.
Headline targets include Pallas's Sandgrouse, Himalayan Snowcock, Mongolian Plover, Ibisbill, White-browed Tit-Warbler and Dalmatian Pelican. Materials and guiding are available in English and French, with the same core team covering Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan.
