Ruta Verde Tours

Ruta Verde Tours is an ecotourism agency founded by Dutch traveller Gijs Dijkshoorn and his Bolivian partner Maria Eugenia, with a base of operations in Santa Cruz de la Sierra and a corresponding company registered in the Netherlands. The company is a long-standing booking partner for Asociación Armonia's Barba Azul Nature Reserve, the only protected breeding habitat of the Blue-throated Macaw. In addition to dedicated birding trips, Ruta Verde runs broader nature itineraries through the Jesuit Missions of the Chiquitania, Noel Kempff Mercado National Park, the Uyuni salt flats and Madidi. English-speaking bird guides are provided on request and the company handles the logistics of the difficult charter-flight-only access to Barba Azul.
