Rubythroat Birding Tours is a Kazakhstan-headquartered operator (Rubythroat LLC, based in Ust-Kamenogorsk) specialising in all-inclusive birding and nature holidays across Central Asia and Russia. Founded and led by Machiel and Bonny Valkenburg, the company runs fixed-departure tours alongside private custom trips, with itineraries reaching from the steppe and deserts of Kazakhstan to the taiga of the Russian Far East. The operation now fields around ten named tour leaders and serves as ground operator for several international birding companies. Recent seasons have featured Zarudny's Sparrow expeditions and Large-billed Reed Warbler searches in the Pamirs. The company runs its own yurt camp in eastern Kazakhstan and publishes detailed trip reports for each departure, drawing more than 150 birdwatchers in a typical year.
