About

Royal Bengal Tours is a Dhaka-based wildlife and birding operator founded in 2012, offering a once-a-year dedicated birdwatching expedition through Bangladesh's main biodiversity hotspots. The company's signature trip threads together the Sundarbans mangrove delta, the tea-country forests around Sreemangal, the hills of Sylhet, and the coastal mudflats near Cox's Bazar. The Sundarbans leg is built around a search for the Critically Endangered Masked Finfoot, one of the world's rarest waterbirds and a flagship species for the company. With more than 700 species recorded in the country, itineraries also seek out resident kingfishers, raptors, woodpeckers, and large concentrations of wintering shorebirds and waterfowl on the coastal flats. Trips are led by a local professional birder accompanied by site-specific guides and rangers, with logistics handled in-house from the company's Dhaka office.
