Rainbow Tours

Rainbow Tours is a UK-based specialist wildlife and tailor-made travel operator headquartered in Chester (trading as International Travel Connections Limited). Founded in the late 1990s, the company has spent more than 25 years building Africa-focused itineraries — starting with South Africa — and has since expanded into Latin America, the Indian Ocean and selected Asian destinations. Its birding-relevant programme is unusually wide for a generalist wildlife operator, covering the lowland-gorilla and forest-elephant rainforests of Odzala-Kokoua in the Republic of Congo, cloud-forest classics in Costa Rica such as Great Green Macaw and Resplendent Quetzal, the Mascarene endemics of Mauritius and Réunion, the Upper Guinea forests of Sierra Leone with their Picathartes and Rufous Fishing-Owl, and the Albertine Rift specialties of Uganda. Tours are typically run as small bespoke groups using local guides and ground operators.
