About
Prairie Chicken Dance Tours were started in 2012 by the Red Willow County Visitors Bureau in McCook, Nebraska. The programme is built around a single iconic spring spectacle: the booming and dancing courtship display of Greater Prairie-Chickens on their leks across southwest Nebraska.
Guided early-morning visits to active leks are paired with an orientation workshop, transportation and breakfast, making the experience accessible to first-time birders and photographers as well as seasoned listers. Tours run during the spring lekking season each year.
