About
Plovers Birdwatching Breaks is run by Paul Trodd from Lydd-on-Sea on the south coast of England. The operation combines accommodation with personalised guided birding for a maximum of four guests, focused on the Dungeness peninsula and the surrounding Romney Marsh and Rye Harbour reserves.
All birding sites are within a 20-minute drive, and many are on the doorstep, allowing for low-travel, intensive coverage of the English Channel coastline, coastal reserves, woods, gravel pits and intertidal habitats. Three-day tallies of 80 to 100 species are typical, with both residential breaks and single-day guided tours available.
