About
Nature Trails East Africa is a licensed bird and wildlife tour operator with offices in Entebbe, Uganda and Kigali, Rwanda, running itineraries across Uganda, Rwanda, and Kenya. They are accredited members of the Association of Uganda Tour Operators, the Uganda Tourism Board, and the Rwanda Tourism Board.
Their Uganda programme targets the country's 1,073-strong bird list across 34 designated Important Bird Areas, with Bwindi Impenetrable Forest as the flagship destination for Albertine Rift endemics. Custom birding tours range from single-day Mabamba Shoebill outings to 28-day country circuits taking in Karamoja for endemics like Fox's Weaver and Karamoja Apalis.
The operator also runs primate-focused trips (mountain gorillas, chimpanzees) and combination wildlife safaris that pair Uganda's forests with Rwanda's Nyungwe and Kenya's savannah parks.
