Monteverde Birding Tours

Monteverde Birding Tours is run by Esteban Mendez, a naturalist born and raised in Monteverde with a lifetime of experience exploring its cloud-forest trails. He guides bilingually in English and Spanish for serious birders and casual nature visitors alike, providing high-quality scopes and tailoring pace and targets to each group. His home base is the Monteverde area, with regular outings to Curi-Cancha Reserve and nearby cloud-forest reserves, plus extended trips across other Costa Rican habitats including lowland sites such as Tapir Valley. The Resplendent Quetzal is the flagship species, alongside hummingbirds, tanagers, Agami Heron and Scarlet Macaws on lowland excursions.
