About

Modou Barry is a professional Gambian ornithologist with more than 25 years of guiding experience and longstanding membership in WABSA and the RSPB. He has been featured in the Bradt Guide to The Gambia and in the book Birding the Gambia, and has advertised in Birdwatching magazine since 2007. His itineraries weave together classic coastal sites near Banjul, including Kotu Stream, Cape Creek, Tanji Nature Reserve, Brufut Forest, Pirang Fish Ponds and Abuko, with up-country trips to Tendaba, Jangjangbureh and Basse Santa Su. Day excursions across the river into Senegal's Fathala Wildlife Reserve round out his offering. He runs personalised bird and wildlife tours for individuals and small groups, focusing on coastal waders, raptors, kingfishers and the dry-country specialities of the upper river.
