About
Meseret Mekuria is a professional Ethiopian birding guide and former wildlife manager who runs Birding Ethiopia Tours from Addis Ababa. Trained in wildlife management at the College of African Wildlife Management in Tanzania, he has guided international birders across Ethiopia since 2006 and has worked through every major birding circuit from the Rift Valley lakes to the Bale Mountains, Awash and the Simien highlands.
His package itineraries range from one-day Addis Ababa outings to 21-day grand tours expected to record more than 400 species, including most of Ethiopia's endemics. Meseret is known for tailoring itineraries around target endemics like White-cheeked Turaco, Abyssinian Longclaw and Spot-breasted Lapwing, and his long-standing relationships with village communities across the country give him reliable access to remote tribal and conservation areas. He has hosted clients from Canada, the US, the UK, Australia, Scandinavia, the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium and South Africa.
