About

Junglewalla is a Langkawi-based nature tour operator founded in 1994 by Irshad Mobarak, a former banker turned celebrated Malaysian naturalist with three decades of field experience. Set up with mentor Miles Baddeley of Wildlife for the Future, the company pioneered ecotourism on Langkawi and shaped much of the island's modern nature-tourism programme. Licensed under Malaysia's MOTAC tourism authority, Junglewalla runs birding, mangrove and rainforest trips across Peninsular Malaysia and has expanded into Sabah (Bornean Malaysia) and Sumatra, Indonesia. Programmes range from raptor-rich Langkawi sea-eagle cruises to multi-day forest birding in Borneo, all run with in-house guides and a stated no-feeding, no-staged-encounters ethic.
