Johan Chaves is a Manuel Antonio-based birding and nature guide who grew up in the area and has been operating as an independent guide since at least 2013. He is consistently top-rated on TripAdvisor and has been quoted in mainstream travel coverage including the Los Angeles Times and Fodor's.
He runs short half-day birding and nature walks in Manuel Antonio National Park (his core territory) plus longer custom itineraries to nearby Pacific-slope sites such as Carara National Park and the Talamanca cloud forest at San Gerardo de Dota for Resplendent Quetzal.
