About

International Field Studies is a non-profit education organisation that runs the Forfar Field Station on Andros Island in the Bahamas. Its eight-day Andros Birding Tour, led by ornithologist Dr. Mike Baltz alongside local guides, surveys more than a hundred species across the island's pine forests, coppices, mangroves and tidal flats. The programme is aimed at adult birders interested in West Indies avian ecology, with daily field expeditions across seven plant communities and a closing 'Big Day' species tally. The field station has been operating Andros-based programmes since at least the late 1980s.
