Indian Ocean Experiences

Indian Ocean Experiences is a Christmas Island-based operator founded in 2011 by local resident Lisa Preston as one of the first companies offering expertly guided land-based wildlife experiences across the island. Tours focus on Christmas Island's exceptional endemic and seabird fauna, with the island hosting around 80,000 nesting seabirds each year and a roster of restricted-range endemics including Abbott's Booby, the Christmas Island Frigatebird and the Christmas Island Hawk-Owl. The team builds customised itineraries blending birdwatching with diving, geology and cultural experiences, and works in partnership with Christmas Island National Park and ocean-conservation group Tangaroa Blue. Trips can be extended to the Cocos (Keeling) Islands for further Indian Ocean seabird and waterbird targets.
