India Birding Tours, operated by A E Travels Pvt. Ltd. and based in New Friends Colony, New Delhi, was founded around 2004 by Gaurav Kataria out of a personal love for birds. The company has grown into one of India's larger specialist bird-tour operators, running both fixed-departure and tailor-made trips that span the Indian subcontinent's roughly 1,300 species. Its itineraries reach virtually every major birding region of the country, from Himalayan circuits in Uttarakhand and Ladakh to the Thar Desert of Rajasthan, the endemic-rich Western Ghats, and the sub-tropical forests of Arunachal Pradesh and Assam. The company also operates dedicated tours to the Andaman Islands and the northeast for hard-to-find species such as the Bugun Liocichla. India Birding Tours combines its own birding lodges and stationed local guides with logistics handled out of Delhi, allowing it to take groups deep into national parks like Eaglenest, Kaziranga, and Corbett with a relatively light footprint.
