Hoopoe Safaris is a boutique tailor-made safari operator based in Arusha, Tanzania, established in 1992 by Maasai guide Steven Laiser and Kenyan-born Peter Lindstrom. The company has built its reputation on personalised wildlife expeditions across northern Tanzania, with itineraries that take in the Serengeti, Tarangire, Lake Manyara and the Ngorongoro Crater alongside Kilimanjaro climbs. While Hoopoe is primarily a general wildlife and safari operator rather than a dedicated bird specialist, their itineraries draw on East Africa's exceptional birdlife and their guides receive twice-yearly training in wildlife, geology and cultural history. The company emphasises conservation partnerships and community-based tourism, and offers classic, family, educational and adventure safari programmes.
