About
Guatemala Birding Adventures is a family-run outfit founded in 2005 by the De Leon brothers - Josue, Aaron and Lester - who have built a reputation as one of the most active local birding operators in the country. The team is bilingual and runs everything from half-day Antigua trips to multi-week countrywide expeditions.
Itineraries cover Guatemala's three main biogeographic regions, working the Atitlan volcano for Horned Guan, the highland pine-oak for Pink-headed Warbler and Goldman's Warbler, the Coban cloud forest for Resplendent Quetzal, and the Peten lowlands for Ocellated Turkey, Scarlet Macaw and Orange-breasted Falcon. The company markets a country list of 750-plus species with more than 35 regional endemics in reach.
