FotoNatur is a Slovenian bird and wildlife photography tour operator running year-round birding programmes across the country's surprisingly varied habitats. Tours cover the seasonally flooded Lake Cerknica, the forested Pohorje plateau, alpine zones, the Karst plateau, the short Slovenian coast and the wetlands of Prekmurje. The operator combines guided birding with hide-based photography, focusing on European specialities such as Three-toed and Middle Spotted Woodpeckers, Capercaillie, Black Grouse, Pygmy and Tengmalm's Owls, White-tailed Eagle and a range of Mediterranean and alpine passerines. Tours can be tailored as full multi-day circuits or as targeted single-site shoots.
