About

Colombia Birdwatch is a Cali-based operator running countrywide birding tours across all of Colombia's major biogeographic regions, from the three Andean cordilleras and the Pacific lowlands to the Caribbean coast, Llanos, and Amazon outposts like Mitú and Inírida. The company operates from Araucana Lodge near Cali and was founded by Christopher Calonje. The outfit's "Birding for Peace" program, launched after the 2017 Colombian peace agreement, opened previously off-limits regions to birding tourism and remains a signature theme of their work. Scheduled departures run through 2027, with itineraries targeting Colombia's roster of regional endemics.
