Chino Zapata - Cuba Bird Guide

Orestes Martinez, known universally as "El Chino," is a biologist and lifelong naturalist born in the Zapata Swamp - Cuba's most important wetland and the heart of the country's endemic birding. With four decades of guiding behind him, he has led thousands of ornithologists and scientists through Zapata National Park and other key Cuban sites. Chino has published on endangered species in the Journal of Caribbean Ornithology and in the University of Havana's Ciencias Biologicas, and has been recognised by the National Wildlife Federation and WWF for his conservation work. He offers 8- and 10-day Cuba expeditions targeting the island's endemics including the diminutive Bee Hummingbird, plus custom day trips.
