Cassowary Tours

Cassowary Tours is a Far North Queensland day-tour brand operated by the same team as Sicklebill Safaris, focused exclusively on the Cairns and Atherton Tablelands region. The business has run birding and wildlife day trips for more than twenty years and relocated its base to Topaz at the southern end of the Tablelands in February 2020. Day itineraries cover the Daintree dawn bird cruise, Mount Lewis rainforest, Cassowary House and the wetlands and uplands south of Cairns, targeting the 13-15 birds endemic to the Wet Tropics. Senior guide Jun Matsui co-authored the 2019 New Holland Field Guide to the Birds of Far North Queensland with Phil Gregory and offers tours in Japanese as well as English.
