About

Caledonia Birds is the one-woman guiding operation of Isabelle Jollit, a French ornithologist based in New Caledonia who holds a doctorate in environmental conservation (2012) and has been active in regional ornithological work since 2000. She specialises in the archipelago's endemic avifauna, above all the iconic flightless Kagu of Blue River Provincial Park south of Noumea. Trips also visit the mountain rainforests around Farino for cloud-forest endemics and the Loyalty Islands' Ouvea to find the endangered Ouvea Parakeet. As a solo guide working a small-island endemic-rich destination, she remains the practical choice for visiting birders targeting New Caledonia's restricted-range species.
