About
Birdwatching Tours El Salvador is the guiding business of Rodolfo Walsh, a Salvadoran biologist and professional photographer based in San Salvador. Walsh trained on a full biology scholarship at the University of San Francisco in California and later took a photography degree at the Academy of Art University, and he uses that combined background to run trips that work equally well for listers and bird photographers.
El Salvador's compact size belies a list of around 600 species, and Walsh leads itineraries to montane sites that hold Resplendent Quetzal and overwintering Golden-cheeked Warbler, alongside hummingbird hotspots, dry forest and coastal wetlands. The operation is endorsed in testimonials from BirdLife International and American Bird Conservancy staff.
