About

BirdsChile is a Puerto Varas-based birding and nature operator co-founded by guide Raffaele Di Biase, one of the longer-standing Chilean specialists in ornithological tourism. The company is a certified B Corporation and has been recognized for sustainability practices, marketing itself under a 'travel for rewilding' banner that ties trips to local conservation projects. Itineraries cover the four classic Chilean regions: Altiplano & Atacama, central Chile around Santiago, Lake District & Chiloé out of their Puerto Varas base, and Patagonia. Di Biase represents Chile on the International Standards Board of Guides for the Adventure Travel Trade Association and the company is known for combining birding with cultural and rewilding components rather than running pure listing tours.
