About
Birding @ Taiwan is a Taiwan-based guiding operation co-led by Stone, a former CEO of the Wild Bird Society of Taipei, and Richard Chen, a certified tour leader with an M.S. from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. They offer multi-day itineraries of 8, 13, and 14 days as well as private day tours.
Taiwan holds 29 endemic species and a national list of more than 670, and the operator targets the mid- and high-elevation specialities of Dasyueshan, Hehuanshan, and other key sites alongside coastal and wetland birding. Swinhoe's Pheasant and the Mikado Pheasant feature prominently in their trip reports.
Tours can be conducted in English or Japanese, and the company publishes Taiwan checklists in English and Chinese for visiting birders.
