About

Birding Pantanal is a Cuiabá-based birdwatching, wildlife and photography operator led by husband-and-wife team Giuliano Bernardon and Lisa Canavarros. The company describes more than two decades of experience guiding birders and photographers across the Pantanal and the wider Brazilian biome network, and runs a sister property, Aymara Lodge Pantanal, used as a base for many of its multi-day departures. In addition to its flagship Pantanal jaguar-and-bird itineraries, the company runs trips to the Cerrado escarpments of Chapada dos Guimarães and Emas, the Amazonian várzea around Mamirauá, the Atlantic Forest at Itatiaia, and Iguaçu Falls. Tours combine local Mato Grosso guides with private vehicles and boats, and the team works in both English and Portuguese.
