About
Birding in the Yucatan is the regional arm of Birding Mexico Expeditions, offering guided ornithological tours across the Yucatán Peninsula with local guides who know its forests, wetlands and coastal habitats first-hand. Departure points span the peninsula from Cancun, Playa del Carmen and Tulum through Merida, Valladolid, Rio Lagartos, Holbox, Calakmul, Mahahual and Cozumel.
The operation runs day excursions, multi-day packages of nine and twelve days, customised itineraries and dedicated wildlife-photography tours. The signature nine-day route promises around 240 species, with regional endemics such as Ocellated Turkey, Yucatan Wren and Mexican Sheartail among the headline targets.
