Birding Bob

Birding Bob is the public-facing name of Robert DeCandido, PhD, a New York-based ornithologist who has been leading guided bird walks in Central Park for more than twenty-five years. He works alongside Deborah Allen, a professional bird and nature photographer, and the pair host very affordable group walks aimed at experienced birders, beginners and tourists alike, with binocular rentals available on the day. Central Park hosts roughly 250 species year-round, in winter or on spring and autumn migration, and DeCandido's research background also includes long-running migration studies in the Empire State Building, Southeast Asia and Central Asia. The walks attract participants from more than fifty countries, and private guided walks and photography tours are also available.
