About
Rolf Nessing is a German freelance bird guide based in Boitzenburger Land in the Uckermark, north of Berlin, offering field trips in and around the city as well as multi-day excursions into the wider Brandenburg countryside and out to the Baltic coast. His patch includes the 46 Important Bird Areas around Berlin plus one IBA inside the city itself, all of which he knows intimately.
His tours typically focus on waterfowl, waders and raptors. Signature targets include Great Bustard on the Havelland and Uckermark steppe-like grasslands, White-tailed and Lesser Spotted Eagles, Black and Red Kites, Common Cranes staging in autumn, and Ortolan Buntings at their northern European outposts. Trips run in both German and English.
