About

Australian Geographic Travel is the travel arm of the Australian Geographic Society, running expert-led wildlife and birding tours nationwide. As a profit-for-purpose business, more than half of its profits flow back to the Society to support conservation and education work. Its birding catalogue spans the entire country, from an Outback wildlife journey at Lake Mungo and the Willandra Lakes World Heritage Area through to Cape Range and Ningaloo Reef on the Western Australia coast and a flagship five-day Far North Queensland birding expedition targeting more than 450 species and the thirteen Wet Tropics endemics, including Golden and Tooth-billed Bowerbirds, Victoria's Riflebird and Bower's Shrike-thrush. Guides are naturalists with regional specialisms, and tours combine wildlife observation with cultural and conservation content rather than running as pure twitching trips.
