Ascanio Birding Tours

Ascanio Birding Tours (ABT) is a Neotropical bird tour company founded by Venezuelan ornithologist David Ascanio, with roots reaching back to pioneering Venezuelan birding expeditions in the 1980s. The operation combines guided tours with active support for research, conservation and ornithology training across the region. Venezuela remains the home territory, with itineraries built around Rancho Grande, the Llanos, the Andes, the Paria mountains and the Tepuis. ABT also runs and co-leads tours in Colombia, Brazil, Peru, Suriname and Guyana, focusing on hard-to-find specialities such as Recurve-billed Bushbird, Tepui Wren and Roraiman Nightjar.
