About
Amar Aves is a Tulum-based birding and nature outfit headed by Miguel Amar, a professional naturalist guide with over twenty years of experience in southern Mexico. The company runs half-day and full-day birdwatching trips out of the Riviera Maya as well as multi-day circuits across the Yucatan Peninsula and into Oaxaca, Chiapas and Veracruz.
The Yucatan focus means working the more than 500 species recorded on the peninsula, including the thirteen regional endemics and the long list of Nearctic migrants that winter in the mangroves and tropical forest. Tours commonly bundle Maya archaeological sites such as Coba and Muyil with mangrove and inland-forest birding.
